The New Year has started out great at Castroville Child Development Center for participants and staff alike. On Tuesday, January 13th, we had our first parent’s community meeting of the year which included 13 families in attendance, quite a remarkable improvement from last years attendance. At this meeting, our president Sarah Galvez announced the end of her term as president due to her daughter’s transition to another program upon turning 3 years young. We thank Sarah for her constant participation and wish her and her child much success on their journey to success. At this time, the parents voted for a new President of the Parent Committee. There were actually two nominees for this position. Marisol Salas our Vice president at the moment and Ritable Garza, a newly enrolled parent. These candidates were given the opportunity to express themselves by letting us know why the wanted to be the president of our parent communities.
At this time, the Supervisor of Children’s Services, Mae Munoz, and I would like to give a “big round of applause and thumbs up” to Ms. Margaret Schultz who has completed her classes for this session with flying colors. Also, congratulations are in order for some of our other staff, Ms. Diana, Ms. Monica P, Ms. Herlinda and Ms. Mae, all of whom worked tirelessly, not only to complete the necessary requirements leading up to their Associates Degree, but were able to continue to offer the best services possible to our children and parents. Great job ladies keep up the good work!!!
