We welcome you, your family, or your corporate volunteer team to become part of our AVANCE-San Antonio familia.

When you donate your time to AVANCE-San Antonio, you become part of our family in serving our mission. You do not need prior experience to volunteer at AVANCE-San Antonio. We simply ask that you come with an open mind and an open heart. Our opportunities include daytime, weekend, or evening opportunities, in person or virtually.

How to Get Involved

Special Family Events

Help AVANCE parents and children throughout the year during our special family events by helping staff preparing for the events, distrusting programs, setting up for events, reading with our children or by donating in-kind gifts. Contact us at volunteers@avancesa.org.

Student Volunteers

Students are welcome to fulfill community service hours by volunteering at AVANCE. Explore your interests, meet new people, and share your knowledge to help families in need. Contact us at volunteers@avancesa.org.

Corporate Volunteers

Contact your company’s Human Resources office or Volunteer Coordinator and ask if your company offers a volunteer program. If not, organize your own group of co-workers interested in making a difference in their community. Contact us at volunteers@avancesa.org.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

Donate specialty or professional services such as carpentry, photography, reading and writing, administrative expertise, etc, or maybe spend a day with us to see what we are all about! Contact us at volunteers@avancesa.org.

Internship Opportunities

College and University students are you looking around for a non-profit; community-based organization to fulfill practicum and/or internship course requirements? then AVANCE is for you! There are non-paid internship opportunities provided year-round. You will gain valuable first-hand and practical knowledge from our leadership team with over 40 years of experience. Background checks

Background Checks: All volunteers are required to complete and pass criminal and CPS background checks. This involves a check thru the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

Drug/Alcohol and Health Screenings: All volunteers are required to complete and pass a Drug/Alcohol and Health screening. These screenings are paid for by AVANCE.
