Parents of young children, are you interested in experiencing college?

Take the next step with AVANCE to College, a FREE program that empowers parents to pursue higher education through San Antonio College’s Empowerment Center.

Eligibility Criteria

Parent or caregiver of a child ages 0–4

Meets federal income guidelines

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Interested in pursuing college or post-secondary pathways

AVANCE to College

AVANCE to College builds on the strong foundation of our Parent-Child Education Program (PCEP) to support both immediate and long-term economic mobility for families.

In partnership with local community colleges, this program empowers caregivers—including expecting mothers, parents, extended family members, and foster families—to continue their education while strengthening their role as their child’s first teacher.

Participants receive personalized support as they explore college and career pathways, all while continuing to build parenting skills and support their child’s early development.
