Shannon Moralez is Assistant General Counsel for the Alamo Colleges District, bringing over two decades of legal experience and a strong track record of strategic counsel in commercial contracts, real estate, employment law, and regulatory compliance. Known for her solution-oriented approach, Shannon has held senior legal leadership roles in both corporate and private practice settings.
Prior to joining Alamo Colleges, she served as Vice President and General Counsel for Capitol Aggregates, Inc. (Zachry Corporation), and as Senior Legal Counsel for Zachry Construction Corporation, where she managed legal matters across diverse industries including construction, hospitality, and industrial services. Shannon began her legal career at Matthews and Branscomb, PC, focusing on civil law, utilities, labor, and public sector legal issues.
Her expertise includes corporate governance, risk management, and employment law, with a strong emphasis on compliance and ethical business practices. She has also led legal teams in managing complex regulatory matters and dispute resolution.
Shannon holds a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law, where she served as Symposium Editor of the St. Mary’s Law Journal, and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Texas State University, with additional studies at Texas A&M University. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers, SA Scene Magazine, and Super Lawyers for her excellence in the legal field.
Shannon is actively engaged in her community, serving as an instructor for adult and youth programs at local Catholic churches.
